One day, we went into Athens to find piano steps that I saw on Pinterest. The steps are painted like a piano keyboard. They looked so cute on Pinterest, and I just had to see them since I play piano and we live near Athens! We plugged the address in the phone and parked right beside them. The steps lead up to a music school. They looked just like the picture I saw! It was a really fun family outing, and definitely worth the hunt! Bougainvillea was hanging over it, so that made the scene even more like a fairy-tale.

A day well spent... This visit into town, we spent most of our time in the Plaka, a neighborhood of Athens for pedestrians to walk, shop, and eat. I love how the shops' awnings keep everyone in the shade. There are people drinking coffee at all hours of the day. Shops stay busy, and restaurants stay hustling. People of all ages love this area, and I've never seen it empty! Daddy likes to buy fresh juice EVERYWHERE we go, so we can get the vitamins, and this is a great place with lots of options! Also, there's a bakery with really good cookies near the central Metro stop! The taste and smell is as pretty as the look. It was a GREAT mid-afternoon snack! :)
The blue water and the boats make me very and happy and excited each time we visit the bay. This bay is near Athens, Greece, and is lined with restaurants full of people enjoying the view. Sometimes when we walk here, there is a clothesline-type mechanism with numerous caught octopuses drying in the sun before they're cooked. (Did you know that the plural octopuses comes from the ancient Greek plural octopodes? I'm learning that many, many words have ancient Greek roots.) It really is a great place for a stroll! The Greeks like to walk around the bay after their evening meal - like most other people in the Mediterranean region. It's always so fun to go down by the water and look at the pretty scene!
