To be in Berlin in early December was magical. Walking down the rows of the Christmas Markets was amazing. It really helped me get into the Christmas Spirit! We only spent a day and a half, but our time was FAB-U-LAS! We went to four Christmas markets, which were all so very neat. We also went to the Berlin Tower, also known as the Fernsehturm de Berlin, where an elevator takes you up about 200 meters in 40 seconds! My ears definitely popped on the way up and down. But at the Tower, if you happen to go, don't eat there, as it costs a BUNCH of money to even get in the restaurant - just look at the 360 view from the side windows. After we went to the Tower, we saw the Berlin Cathedral and the Pergamon Museum, where we saw only the Ishtar Gates, due to the restoration of the part of the museum that the Pergamon alter is located. After that, we walked to the Brandenburg Gate and admired the gate. While we were there, we heard a brass band playing Christmas songs, and had to find them! We really enjoyed listening to those instruments play for a while! Also, we walked by the Berlin Wall, which has graffiti-like paintings on the part of the wall that separated East and West Berlin until it was destroyed on November 9, 1989. Berlin was so fun to get a glimpse of, and I can't wait to go next time!

My dad and I took not one but two Segway tours - one in Salzburg, and another in Mondsee (a short bus ride away from St. Gilgen)! In Salzburg, we saw Mozart Square, climbed part of a mountain overlooking the city (on a path, of course!), and stopped on a bridge to admire the river area of this beautiful city. In Mondsee, we didn't really stay in the town since it's really small, but we went into the countryside. I loved seeing all the colors of fall in the trees. It was also cool to see the lake with mountains in the background. It looked like a fairy tale land!
