We climbed Mt. Olympus last week. It was hard, But it was worth the seven hours of hiking uphill! We like to say that we didn't take breaks, only appreciation stops. There was a hostel half-way up the mountain where we spent the night after our summit. As we made it down the bottom of the mountain, my legs were weak, but I was so thrilled to see a place to sit! We were sore for a few days, but we climbed the highest mountain in Greece, thank you very much! Funny story - Before hiking, Daddy asked me if I wanted to bring a knit hat, but it being summer, I said, "no, thank you." When we got close to the top it became real cold. He had his hat in his backpack as well as sweatpants, so he gave me the hat and wore the pants as a hat and scarf! I couldn't stop laughing!
If you are in good shape, if you like a physical challenge, and if you have a lot of time and energy, I"d recommend the climb. You should know going into this climb that it's tough! Be prepared for a hard day. But the views from the top, and even along the way, are spectacular. So if you want to say hello to Zeus, go to the top of Mt. Olympus!

This is soooo amazing! I was talking to my sister and as I was telling her what was worshiped on top of this beautiful mountain I realized that God is in us and as you climb on top of this mountain you are, in a special way conquering it!! God is in us, He has conquered this mountain. this sinful worship that took place there is nothing compared to the God that conquered it! I can't explain this very well when we are so far apart, but the feeling of the Mighty God is awesome!
